Curriculum planning
"Learning through play" is our learning and teaching strategy, down-to-earth learning objectives are integrated into "The Six Campus" cultures: "Picture Book Campus", "Discovery Campus", "Play Campus", "Rainbow Campus", "Healthy Campus" and "Art Campus", which covered the six major learning areas of early childhood education. Comprehensive language teaching was promoted by using exquisite bilingual picture books, allowing children to learn languages (Chinese, English, and Mandarin) in a rich language environment, promoting children's thinking skills and improving their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Combining Biblical truths with positive education, we aim to cultivate children to become loving world citizens and have passion for life.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Children can actively participate in a wide variety of exploration activities, and share their discoveries with peers, thereby cultivating their innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities, expanding their interests, and enhancing their social skills. Our curriculum also covers various forms of arts and music education, providing opportunities for children to perform. Through rich exposure to arts, we are devoted to developing their international perspectives and nurturing a new generation that is artistically well-established in cultural awareness.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
We assess children's learning performance through continuous observation. We distribute children's learning assessments upon completion of a theme and the Child's Learning Portfolio will be distributed at the end of every school term to help parents understand their child's overall development.
School Characteristics
School vision and mission
Our Kindergarten’s ethos is to foster ‘Healthy Lives, Happy Families and a Harmonious Community’. We implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on biblical teaching, which meets children’s needs and interests. We expect that after kindergarten education our students will be able to cultivate good character, become active learners and develop confidence and ability to adapt in this everchanging world.
Support to students
We arrange new student adaptation periods, kindergarten-primary school bridging courses, supportive groups for diverse learning students, and collaborate with professional organizations to support the children in need.
Support to non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students
The teaching team cares for and supports NCS students in learning Chinese. We construct an enriched language for learning Chinese, and establish strategies to help NCS students learn Chinese, so that NCS students can immerse themselves in the Chinese context and learn effectively from games and interactions. As well as promote the social integration of NCS children.
