Curriculum planning
Our curriculum is set according to the Education Bureau's Guide to Pre-primary, covering all six learning areas. Our main objective is to foster children’s everyday life skills as well as promote the talents needed to succeed locally but also internationally in this 21st century. Some of these skills might include innovative thinking, mathematical logic, strategic thinking and problem solving capabilities. Our curriculum nurtures the whole child as well as putting empathise on literacy and trilingualism. English is taught 5 days a week through story books, exciting games and role play so children build up their ability to use English boldly and confidently in everyday life. Putonghua classes are taught by teachers who have obtained the Level One certification of the Putonghua Proficiency test.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Using the picture book approach, we are able to create games, exploring activities, promote group work and group discovery. Children can share their experiences and have discussions. They are given room to observe, think, to scaffold learning as well as solve problems. The environment is rich with learning corners however the children are also given opportunities to go on school trips and talks, promoting diverse teachings. Children’s interests are followed therefore engagement is high as well as enjoyment of school. All in all, motivated learners.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
The children’s learning is assessed through continuous observations. These assessments are distributed out after each theme is completed. We also collate this information in the child’s Learning Portfolio and this is presented to the parents at the end of each term. Here, parents can gain a greater understanding of their child’s overall development.

School vision and mission
Sharing the educational mission of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, the kindergarten strives to provide the society with diversified pre-primary educational services. We provide Holistic Education to children through a good learning environment, so that children attain balanced development in the domains of language, intellect, physique, emotion and social skills. Based on "Diligence, frugality, loyalty and faith", we foster children to develop positive values and the ability to solve problems.
