Curriculum planning
We design child-oriented curriculum according to children's developmental needs ,referring to EDB's kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide. The school-based curriculum with six major areas of learning are designed to enhance children's learning. We emphasize biliterate and trilingual teaching and learning. We value children on autonomous learning and moral education.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Different teaching approaches will be used, such as brain base teaching skill, and picture books teaching. We adopt whole group circle time, small group learning and personalized learning times. Theme-based approaches, project approaches, exploration activities, parent-child assignments, etc. will be implemented. Diversity activities such as children performance, 'Book Character Fun Day' ,'Fun Day', 'Chinese Culture Week', 'Thanksgiving Month', outdoor visits and parent-child activities etc. will be carried out, so that children can broader their views and expand their potential. To create a trilingual learning environment, there are music and movement lesson, circle time, reading time and phonics lesson for English; music lesson and circle time for Mandarin. Prompt students language skills through interdisciplinary learning.
