Curriculum planning
Leapfrog follows the UK Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum that has been modified to incorporate our bi-lingual class. Our basis of teaching is a learning through play and thematic teaching approach. Our main learning areas are
 Communication and language
 Physical development
 Personal, social and emotional development
 Literacy
 Mathematics
 Understanding of the world
 Expressive arts and design
We also incorporate a Forest School program and are an accredited Forest Schol Development Centre and offer a bi-lingual Mandarin class.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Leapfrog provides a spacious, natural environment for your child to grow and learn through play. The medium of instruction is English, with our Mandarin speaking teacher interacting constantly with the children in Chinese. There is also some direct teaching every day and the children enjoy learning Mandarin through games, songs, drama and numeracy activities as well as everyday conversation. Daily Numeracy and Literacy Circle times, phonics and free-choice sessions are incorporated in the curriculum.
We also provide an accredited Forest School Program con-currently with the curriculum.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
Annual report and formative and ongoing observational assessments.
