Curriculum planning
Our school is always based on the importance of being “child-centred” by the children’s needs, abilities and potential development. We provide a diversified curriculum which consults the overall objectives of Hong Kong preschool education, the guide to the pre-primary curriculum and our school education missions. The school’s integrated play-based curriculum is comprehensive. It aims to develop children’s potential and cultivate their knowledge, skills and attitudes to learning, and allow children to be global citizen and become lifelong learners.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
The school has an active, integrated, open-minded and flexible teaching model for children to learn and explore in a fun and creative environment. The school promotes the culture of reading and the language development of the children, through inspiring games, activities and discussions in class, children have an awareness and ownership of their learning. We also highlighted the importance of knowledge, and widening the children's vision through school outings and visit some community activities. At the same time, the school also emphasises ‘inquiry-based learning” through scientific inquiry activities together with computer education platform for children to problem solve and develop critical thinking.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
The school are using the continuous evaluation report form to observe and record children's learning outcomes continuously. The school aims to customize learning activities for children, and analyze children's ability performance with objective attitude.
