Curriculum planning
Our curriculum is designed in the child-centred approach emphasizing multiple developments of children. Children are encouraged to discover, experience and explore new things through meaningful learning activities such as: science experiments, creative activities and outdoor visit. Stories are the core elements of our program. Children's learning exprience are extended through exploration activities in which children are interested. We emphasize the language development in both Chinese and English. We believe appropriate language environment is important to motivate children's learning.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Spiral approach is the base of the curriculum, which includes elements from concrete to abstract, simple to complex. We take into consideration of children’s abilities so as to bridge their previous experiences with new ones. They are also helped to improve the confidence in solving problems and enhance perception skills.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
We have children's learning portfolio to record their progress at different stages. Our school will develop different learning strategies according to the observation record and analyze,
